The 1747-OCPCM2 communication interface supports the Remote I/O, the DH+, and the DH-485 industrial communication protocols. The 1747-OCPCM2 communication interface is compatible with the SLC 500 series programmable control systems from . The DH-485 network is designed for information exchange between devices on the factory plant floor. Up to 32 devices can be connected over a maximum network length of 4000 feet. Network nodes can be added or removed without causing network disruption. The DH+ (Data Highway Plus) network in the 1747-OCPCM2 communication interface implements peer to peer communication with a token passing scheme to rotate the link mastership among a maximum number of 64 nodes.
