The three-phase voltage relay SPAU 130 CC-AA isintended to be used for overvoltage and undervoltage protection and supervision in distribution substations. The relay can also be used forovervoltage and undervoltage protection of generators, motors and transformers. Generally therelay measures the three phase-to-phase voltagesof the system but it can also be programmed forsingle-phase measurement.

When one of the phase-to-phase voltage orseveral exceed the set start value U> of theovervoltage stage, the overvoltage stage startsdelivering a start signal SS1. When, at definitetime mode of operation, the set operate time t>or, at inverse time mode of operation, the calculated operate time t>, has expired, the overvoltagestage operates delivering a trip signal TS1. In thesame way the undervoltage stage starts delivering a start signal SS2 when the measured valuegoes below the start value U< and when the setoperate time t< has expired, the undervoltagestage operates, delivering a trip signal TS2.

The overvoltage and undervoltage relay is generally used as a three-phase relay. But by meansof a selector switch the relay can be configuredas a single phase relay.

The overvoltage stage can be given definite timecharacteristic or inverse time characteristic.When inverse time characteristic is selected twosets of curves named A and B are available.

1. The relay module is provided with two operation indicator located in the right bottomcorner of the front plate of the relay module.One indicates operation of the overvoltagestage and the other operation of the undervoltage stage. Yellow light indicates that theconcerned stage has started and red light thatthe stage has operated (tripped).

With the SG2 software switchgroup the startand trip indicators can be given a latchingfunction, which means that the LEDs remainlit, although the signal that caused operationreturns to normal. The indicators are resetwith the RESET push-button. An unresetindicator does not affect the operation of therelay.

2. The yellow LED indicators (U12, U23 andU31) on the upper black part of the front plateindicate, when lit, that the correspondingvoltage value is currently being displayed.

3. The red IRF indicator of the self-supervisionsystem indicates, when lit, that a permanentinternal relay fault has been detected. Thefault code appearing on the display once afault has been detected should be recordedand notified when service is ordered.

4. The green Uaux LED on the front panel is litwhen the power supply module operates properly.

5. The LED indicator below a particular settingknob indicates, when lit, that the settingvalue of the knob is currently being displayed.

6. The LED of the SG1 switchgroup indicates,when lit, that the checksum of the switchgroup is currently being displayed.
