SLC Direct Communication Module

The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is a direct communication module. The module is part of Allen-Bradley's Remote I/O (RIO) series of adapters in the SLC 500 family. The application for this module is similar to that of a PLC-5. It distributes the SLC-500 processor located on the Allen-Bradley RIO Communication Link and lets them transfer data between each other. Each SLC 500 Controller can be connected to the Allen-Bradley Programmable Controller via the RIO Link, providing a distributed processing system. This DCM occupies 1 slot in any 500 SLC chassis. The Allen-Bradley 1747-DCM is an RIO adapter for a PLC processor with integral RIO scanners on the RIO Communication Link. It is also an adapter for RIO scanner.
