Utilizing high-frequency eddy current technology, this probe accurately captures subtle shaft movement and outputs a voltage signal proportional to the clearance change. When used with the 3300 XL series proximitor and monitoring system, it provides real-time monitoring of the equipment's shafting status, providing early warning of faults such as imbalance, misalignment, and bearing wear. Installation Guide

 

 

1. Pre-Installation Preparation

  • Confirm that the probe model matches the equipment monitoring point. Check the probe cable for damage and the connector for tightness. Prepare installation tools (torque wrench, 1/4-28 UNF wrench) and a feeler gauge.
  • Shut down the machine and disconnect the power cord. Clean any oil and dust around the monitoring point and ensure the mounting surface is flat.

2. Installation Procedures

  • Aligning the threaded hole at the monitoring point: Align the probe with the reverse end (tip facing the shaft) with the mounting hole. Gently screw the probe in by hand until the probe tip contacts the shaft surface.
  • Adjusting the installation clearance: Use a feeler gauge to measure the clearance between the probe tip and the shaft and adjust it to 0.5-1mm (recommended value). Then, use a torque wrench to tighten the probe to a torque of 5-6 N·m.
  • Securing the cable: Route the cable along the equipment bracket and secure it with cable ties to prevent it from getting tangled or scratched by rotating parts. Ground the cable shield at one end (ground resistance ≤ 4Ω).
  • Connecting the Proximitor Sensor: Insert the probe cable connector into the "PROBE" port on the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and tighten the securing nut.

3. Debugging and Inspection

  • Power on the monitoring system and observe whether the output voltage of the preamplifier is between 4-12V (corresponding to a gap of 0.5-1mm). A stable voltage indicates proper installation.
  • Manually rotate the device shaft to see if the output voltage fluctuates smoothly with the gap. If there are no jumps, the measurement is normal.
