The Velomitor CT velocity sensor is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor piezoelectric velocity sensor. It is specifically designed to measure the case vibration velocity of cooling tower and air-cooled heat exchanger fan assemblies operating at 90 rpm or greater (typically 100 to 300 rpm). The Velomitor CT sensor measures the vibration amplitude at these frequencies, as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and reducer.

➫ Installation Clearance Check: When installing the sensor, ensure that the probe does not come into direct contact with the vibrating surface of the equipment to prevent damage caused by collisions between the probe and the surface during equipment vibration. The recommended installation clearance is ≥ 1 mm.
➫ Grounding Specifications: The cable shield must be grounded at one end. The grounding location should be the common ground terminal of the monitoring system to avoid multiple grounding points that create ground loops and cause signal interference.
➫ Cable Protection: In areas with severe equipment vibration or frequent human activity, use metal bellows or cable ducts to protect the sensor cable from abrasion and accidental pulling.
➫ Temperature Exceeding Limit Warning: Avoid installing the sensor in areas with temperatures exceeding 120°C. If the temperature at the monitoring point is high, implement thermal insulation measures or select a custom high-temperature model.
➫ Regular Inspection: Quarterly inspect the sensor installation for tightness, cable integrity, and terminal condition. Address any loose or damaged components promptly to ensure proper operation of the monitoring system.
