The MVI56-PDPMV1 is a Profibus DP V1 Master communication module. This module is used with the ControlLogix platform manufactured by encompass partner company, Prosoft Technology. Description
The MVI56-PDPMV1 is an ControlLogix platform compatible module. This module is a Profibus DP V1 compatible module that acts as the Master device in the Profibus network. This module is developed by Prosoft Technology, an encompass partner company of Rockwell Automation that develops Allen-Bradley PLC compatible modules.
The MVI56-PDPMV1 features One (1) RS485 port that is optically isolated, supporting PROFIBUS DP Version 1 protocol. Up to 125 PROFIBUS slave devices can be connected to this port which is also compatible with PPROFIBUS repeaters. This module has the capability of being configured up to 1536 cyclic bytes and 1536 bytes of output and supports extended diagnostic data.
Other functions supported by the MVI56-PDPMV1 include Alarm Handling, Synch and Freeze commands, Supports PROFIDrive version 3.1 parameter read and write operations, multicast and broadcast telegrams.
The MVI56-PDPMV1 has embedded LED status indicators for depicting the state of operation of the module. These LEDs indicators include Ready, Run, Error and Token indicators.
The MVI56-PDPMV1 PROFIBUS communication module is installed to a 1756 ControlLogix chassis. It occupies a single slot of the chassis and draws a current amounting to 800 mA @ 5VDC and 3 mA @ 24VDC from the backplane. It has an operating temperature of 0°C to 60°C (32°F to 140°F) and storage temperature of -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F). This module must be installed in an appropriate enclosure with vibration not exceeding 5 g from 10 Hz to 150 Hz and shock of 30 g with relative humidity of 5% to 95%, non-condensing.

- Small flat blade screwdriver to secure the PROFIBUS connector to themodule
